Go back to the “Hold Object” lessons and maybe use a more interesting toy when you give him these lessons too. A common problem is when a dog picks up the object, but drops it on the way back to you. To cure this, you simply need to spend more time training him to “Hold”. If your dog picks up the object but doesn’t respond to your command to come, go back to training him the “Come” command and spend more time on it.
