Dominant breeds of dog (like the Doberman) often have much more rivalry than other breeds -- Especially if they siblings. Sometimes the only solution is to neuter the “underdog” so there is less rivalry and competition between each other.
Sibling Rivalry You can avoid these potential problems by keeping your dogs in separate rooms when you’ve given them bones, or you can just not give them any bones at all. Remember: It doesn’t matter how many bones you give your dogs, one dog will always want the other’s bone.
Eye Contact Between Your Dogs Remember: If one of your dogs is clearly more dominant than the other, you should always put the dominant dog’s bowl first. If you are clear on which dog is the most dominant between the two, you should always greet the dominant one first. A dominant dog will have less need to show dominance if you do this. |
